June 17th:
Horror Tales: The Beggar – CarlosGameDev
We rather enjoyed Carlos Coronado’s last outing, Horror Tales: The Wine, so we’ve been eagerly anticipating this newest entry. Indie horrors are a dime a dozen, but his smart use of tech and out of the box design means this could well be one of the better bets. There’s a demo on Steam right now, but we’re waiting for the middle of the month to go in and see what awaits.
June 18th:
#BLUD – Humble Games
Looking exactly like something we’d expect to find on Nickelodeon, #BLUD takes this immediately arresting aesthetic and pairs it with over the top beat-em-up and dungeon-crawling gameplay. Early impressions seem positive, and we hope the humour and violence can match the shows it clearly aims to ape.
June 18th:
Still Wakes the Deep – Secret Mode
Coming from masters of slow-tension and masterful atmosphere building The Chinese Room, Still Wakes the Deep sets us on an abandoned oil rig with just us, the deep ocean, and something for company. The trailers had us sold from day one, but recent previews seem to be high on the promise shown here. Day one on Game Pass means it will not be missed by us here, and we can’t wait to see what horrors await us.
June 4th:
Firework – Shiying Studio and Gamera Games
Sometimes, all it takes is some simple key art to catch our eye. Coming to PC Game Pass in a few days, Firework looks to take minimalist 2D horror and throw some surreal, creepy elements into the mix. We don’t know a great deal outside of the trailer above, but we’re happy to keep it that way and just play it soon.
