Project Game Pass Titles 2024:
January: Turbo Golf Racing
February: Palworld
Over the last two years, we’ve attempted to explore the depths of Game Pass in our monthly podcast segment, Project Game Pass. With this program, our podcast crew would pick a game from Game Pass each month, and we’d play and discuss our thoughts on it every Sunday at 8pm (ISSSHHH) over on the weekly podcast. We’ve played some absolute bangers and surprises, from the excellent Killer Queen Black, to Exoprimal, Jusant and more. We’ve also played some duds, with titles like Atomic Heart and Redfall missing the mark for us.
However, in recent months it’s become increasingly tricky for us to both pick a game that everyone was happy to check out, and actually find the time to give the game a fair shot in between our home lives, work, and reviewing titles for this very website.
So, we’ve decided to mix up how Project Game Pass is going to work in 2024. It’s always been more enjoyable (and we’d had more success in playing them) when we pick a multiplayer title to go with. Therefore, each month we will pick a multiplayer-focused title so Graham, Ian, Ross, and I (and occasionally a special guest) can get together and check it out. Ideally it’ll be one of the newer additions to Game Pass, but we’ll delve into the backlog should there not be much of interest on a particular month. There’s a trove of awesome looking games already in Game Pass for us to play, so we won’t be short of ideas no matter what happens.
The other issue mentioned above is one of time – we all do this as a hobby, and have families/jobs/commitments outside of this to contend with. With this in mind, we have decided to allot the first Sunday of each month’s podcast to be Project Game Pass Sunday. Instead of the usual podcast, we’ll stream ourselves playing the game for a couple of hours. We may still do some podcast chatter while we play if there’s big news to talk about or we’ve been playing a particularly great game in the week, but it will be mostly focused on the PGP title.
The hope is with this dedicated time slot we will be able to give each game a fair, regular shot, though we also hope to get some time in across the month as well. Details on how often we play or if those other times are streamed will be on a game by game basis, as well as factoring in our personal schedules that month.
With all that said, we hope you enjoy this tweaked schedule and will join us in exploring the Game Pass catalogue each month. Any suggestions for games can be dropped below, or on our social media pages, as well as any feedback or thoughts on Project Game Pass, our reviews, or anything Xbox related.
Here’s to an awesome 2024 of gaming, fun, and more!
