Xbox Tavern’s Game(s) of the Year

Dan@chocolatebear80

This years game of the year choice is a hard one for me. I usually have a caveat that my GOTY choice isone that I have finished. This year has been a wild ride for me personally so I haven’t been able to finish many games.

That being said on Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War I am on the last mission (you can do it Dan! – ed) and feel this is the only game I can truly say I’ve played plenty of and be able to call it my game of the year.

The writing is superb, and the 80’s theme hits the nostalgia for me. The addition of dialogue options gives Cold War more depth and the feeling your choices matter as well as side missions which interlink with the main stories as a breath of fresh air to the Call of Duty world.

The campaign may not being overly long (even if I’ve not finished it yet – I’m close, promise!) but if you can catch it on sale I highly recommend you pick this up!

For me it started out on PC, back in the Wolfenstein 3D and Commander Keen days. Now I play across all platforms, but I'm gaming every day, mainly on xbox. I'm easy going, with a full-on achievement hunting addiction that I always say I will give up, but i never do! Gamertag: nuttywray
