For me, I have played some amazing games over this year from Doom Eternal to Watch Dogs Legion, both fantastic games deserving of a mention as I massively enjoyed my time playing both of them. Doom was a standout with it’s tough fights and amazing boss battles. Watch Dogs Legion was a joy to behold even with it’s bugs at launch. I’m a huge lover of stealth games and WDL had some great mechanics where you can get in and out of an area without being seen. Plus, you can play as over 9 million different people – though really you only end up regularly using a handful (Bee Keeper FTW!).
But purely for the amount of fun I had playing my pick – plus wanting to pick something a little different – I decided to go for The Language of Love…
…no….
I mean, Nexomon: Extinction. By God, when I started playing this I instantly fell in love and couldn’t put it down. The story was epic and all the characters in it were phenomenal.
There isn’t much hand holding whilst you progress in the game and you will have to work a few things out yourself but it is simple enough with a little common sense.
To assist you, you have a companion called Coco. He talks for you but will also break the fourth wall every now and again to take the mickey out of the RPG tropes. He is hilarious and at times has actually made me laugh out loud with some of the things he says.

As a big Pokemon fan I was a bit sceptical about trying something different, but oh my God I am so glad I did. It was glorious, so much fun and I can’t wait to dive back into it.
For anyone who has been recently let down by Pokemon Shield/Sword like I was, I can’t recommend this enough.
