EKSA EM600 Gaming Mouse Review

Manufacturer: EKSA
Where to Buy: EKSA
RRP: $24.99 (or region equivalent)

More and more games on Xbox are allowing us to use a mouse and keyboard, which is especially handy in cross-play titles. Xbox players need to make sure they pick up a decent option though, and the EKSA EM600 mouse is just such one. With a solid, premium feel that outdoes the relatively cheap price, and a couple of handy features to boot, this is something those looking to try out K&M should check out.

This isn’t a typical gaming mouse that you might be thinking of – dozens of buttons and sharp edges are not in play here. Instead, we get a well designed, ergonomic and easy to use mouse that is a simple to set up as plugging in.

Not only does it rest under the hand nicely, the left hand lip allows our thumb to rest right next to a couple of handy buttons – the key one being the ‘sniper button’. This slows the DPI right down, letting us get those pin-point accurate headshots with ease. Let go and we’re right back to our current DPI setting, which on this mouse goes from 500 all the way up to 6000 (and even 12000 on PC with certain software). These can be adjusted on the fly too with the buttons located just under the mouse wheel, the colour of which changes to indicate what setting we’re on.

Speaking of colours, we’re able to have several RGB patterns display on the mouse, from simply solid colours to all sorts of flashy patterns. It’s pretty cool looking, but can also be turned off should you not want the lights distracting you during play.

Otherwise, we get the usual fare of mouse-based bits and pieces. The buttons have a satisfying click, the mouse wheel rolls with just the right amount of resistance, and the USB cable is a nice braided style that won’t bend of twist easily.

There’s a nice, matt, rubbery feel to the top of the mouse that allows us decent grip with out it becoming too hot, and the base glides nicely over even the rougher surface of my bodged together table.

Conclusion

All in all, the EKSA EM600 is a great choice for those looking to try an alternate control method of gaming on Xbox – or indeed are just looking for a new mouse for the PC. Easy to set up and use, this comes highly recommended.

I've been gaming since Spy vs Spy on the Master System, growing up as a Sega kid before realising the joy of multi-platform gaming. These days I can mostly be found on smaller indie titles, the occasional big RPG and doing poorly at Rainbow Six: Siege. Gamertag: Enaksan
