Xbox Tavern’s Ones to Watch: May 2024

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade Microsoft Game Studios/Ninja Theory
May 21st

It’s been a long time coming, but Ninja Theory’s follow up to the iconic Hellblade is finally upon us. A recent round of previews seemed positive, but there’s no denying at the very least this is likely to be the best looking game of 2024 – and probably some time after the fact.
We very much enjoyed the oppressive atmosphere, excellent audio implementation and deliberate combat and puzzles of the original, so this day one Game Pass title can’t come soon enough.

INDIKA11-bit Studios
May 8th

Few games really capture the eye with a single trailer successfully, but INDIKA did just that recently as we were preparing for the month of May. Coming from renowned published 11-bit studios only seals our interest in this third person adventure, though it helps that there seems to be a hefty psychological tint to proceedings.

System Shock Remake – Nightdive Studios
May 21st

The father of immersive sims, System Shock‘s remake was another long time coming title. Released on PC last year, console players can finally get to grips with the well-regarded series origins. We had a chance to play back at WASD ’23 and were keen to see more.

I've been gaming since Spy vs Spy on the Master System, growing up as a Sega kid before realising the joy of multi-platform gaming. These days I can mostly be found on smaller indie titles, the occasional big RPG and doing poorly at Rainbow Six: Siege. Gamertag: Enaksan
