Xbox Tavern’s Game(s) of the Year

My game of the year picks come down to 3 choices pretty fast; Ori and the Will of the WispsManeater, and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2. All three of these games brought me anticipation as their release drew closer, joy as I was experiencing them, and left a taste of wanting to play them more afterwards. Admittedly I still go back to Tony Hawk occasionally as there is a lot to do in that game and I will be going back to Ori as well soon to finish the achievements including a speedrun, no death run, and hard mode run (jesus… good luck! – ed)
But when I think of picking a game of the year, it has to come down to

Maneater: This game delivered a great story, unique gameplay (I mean, how often do you get to grow up and evolve as a shark?!), and it can all be wrapped up in 12-15 hours (I’m talking 100%) which is perfect for my play style nowadays given how much time I can actually game.

And best of all it left me wanting more. There aren’t many games I want to say, “take my money and give me some DLC!” and for all of those reasons, Maneater is my GOTY 2020. You should really check it out!

For me it started out on PC, back in the Wolfenstein 3D and Commander Keen days. Now I play across all platforms, but I'm gaming every day, mainly on xbox. I'm easy going, with a full-on achievement hunting addiction that I always say I will give up, but i never do! Gamertag: nuttywray
