My game of the year picks come down to 3 choices pretty fast; Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Maneater, and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2. All three of these games brought me anticipation as their release drew closer, joy as I was experiencing them, and left a taste of wanting to play them more afterwards. Admittedly I still go back to Tony Hawk occasionally as there is a lot to do in that game and I will be going back to Ori as well soon to finish the achievements including a speedrun, no death run, and hard mode run (jesus… good luck! – ed).
But when I think of picking a game of the year, it has to come down to…
Maneater: This game delivered a great story, unique gameplay (I mean, how often do you get to grow up and evolve as a shark?!), and it can all be wrapped up in 12-15 hours (I’m talking 100%) which is perfect for my play style nowadays given how much time I can actually game.

And best of all it left me wanting more. There aren’t many games I want to say, “take my money and give me some DLC!” and for all of those reasons, Maneater is my GOTY 2020. You should really check it out!
