Jumping into this futuristic dodge-em reflex title surprised me. Think bullet hell, however, the tables are turned slightly and you are a ship which has to dodge bombs, bullets and everything else that’s thrown at you. You’ll need to make a quick split-second decision to pick up crates that give you either extra lives or upgrades to your ship.
The roguelike elements are fun to start with however as you progress through the levels you need to pick up more crates which I felt left the game more as something to be played in quick 10-minute sessions here and there. I would have liked to have seen a little more depth to the experience and less rinse and repeat.
Conclusion
Swordship is fun in very short bursts but it soon begins to get too repetitive for my tastes.
