Every now and then, it’s nice to just pick up something simple, blast through it, and move on. I’m always a fan of shorter titles, especially puzzle ones, and so Blind Postman pretty much hits the sweet spot for my criteria. It’s not especially memorable, but what’s here is enjoyable enough for an hour or so.

We’re thrown straight into the puzzling after hitting Play, which is a nice touch. No long tutorials or cinematics, just straightforward gameplay. Our Postman is a single-wheeled droid, only able to move in the four cardinal directions and not stopping until they hit a wall of hazard. So our task is to move them about the arenas, collect the mail dotted about, and get to the exit. It’s hardly a unique or revolutionary idea, but the neon colours at least give it a decent layer of visual oomph.
Each level feeds into the next, and all can be beaten in a handful of moves. Of the 50 on offer, only one or two gave me more than a few minutes challenge mind, with most of them having fairly obvious solutions from the get go. Hell, even the mail dotted about isn’t actually required to clear the stages, being as it is an optional extra. Later areas introduce teleports, stationary Postman that can be shunted around, bombs, barricades, and more, but even with these extra elements the challenge never really amounts to much.

A quick restart is available when we get stuck, and even if we use this any letters collected remain in our possession; a handful of levels saw me collect the letters, then restart for a simpler shot to the goal. As mentioned above, I cleared the 50 stages only missing one letter in around about an hour all told, so it’s not going to last you a great deal of time. It’s enjoyable enough while it does last though.
Conclusion
Although short, Blind Postman is a passable puzzle game that’ll do you for an hour or two in between meatier titles.
