Published by Ratalaika Games S.L. and Developed by Nibb Games, Virtuous Western is a puzzle platformer with simple 16-bit graphics. To simply give you a brief idea of the game, you are a cowboy that needs to collect a bullet to shoot an outlaw. Then rinse and repeat until you complete the game.
There are some added mechanics like having the outlaws hidden behind crates which they have to break before they can shoot you, or indeed you shoot them. There are also environmental attacks, where you can shoot chain attached to a crate that will then drop on the outlaw, killing them.
Controlling the cowboy is OK, though there are a few issues that arise when you have to climb up ladders and peak your head up to get the outlaws to shoot you. Sometimes timing these correctly can be a massive pain.
Conclusion
All in all Virtuous Western is a nice game. The gameplay loop is easy enough to get to grips with, but it’s also not a title that’ll hold the attention for a long time. Achievement hunters will likely blast through it, but those looking for something to sink their teeth into are best of looking elsewhere.
