Madden NFL 24 Review

Madden NFL 24 is the latest installment of the popular football simulation series from EA Sports. The game promises to deliver a realistic and immersive experience with new features and technologies that take advantage of the power of the next-gen console. But does it live up to the hype? Let’s find out.

The first thing that stands out about Madden NFL 24 is the graphics. The game looks stunning on the Xbox Series X, with crisp and detailed textures, realistic lighting and shadows, and smooth animations. The players, stadiums, and crowds are rendered with impressive fidelity, creating a lifelike atmosphere that makes you feel like you are watching a real game on TV. The game also runs at a steady 60 frames per second, ensuring smooth and responsive gameplay.

The gameplay of Madden NFL 24 has also improved from the previous versions, thanks to the new FieldSENSE system. This system offers enhanced physics-informed animations that make every hit, tackle, catch, and throw more realistic and impactful. The game also introduces Hit Everything 2.0, which allows you to hit any player on the field with more force and accuracy, creating more dynamic and unpredictable outcomes. Another new feature is Skill-Based Passing 2.0, which gives you more control and precision over your passing game, allowing you to adjust the trajectory, speed, and timing of your throws.

One of the most innovative features of Madden NFL 24 is the Sapien technology, which is a new artificial intelligence system that powers the behavior and decision-making of the players and coaches. The Sapien technology makes the game more challenging and realistic, as it adapts to your play style and strategy, and reacts accordingly. For example, if you run the same play repeatedly, the Sapien technology will learn from it and adjust its defense to counter it. The Sapien technology also affects the coaching decisions, such as play calling, timeouts, challenges, and substitutions.

Madden NFL 24 also offers a variety of game modes to suit your preferences. You can play solo or online with friends or strangers in various modes such as Exhibition, Franchise, Ultimate Team and Superstar Modes. The game also supports cross play between Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC players, allowing you to play with anyone regardless of their platform.

One of the most exciting new modes in Madden NFL 24 is Superstar: The League, which is a story-driven mode that lets you create your own custom player and follow his journey from college to the NFL. You can choose your position, appearance, skills, personality, and backstory, and shape your career through your choices and actions on and off the field. Now as a massive Patriots fan, I had my bags packed looking to leave sunny California and USC to travel to the east coast and bring back the once great team, however I dropped a little in the draft to number 20 of the first round and ended up taking a trip to the Starbucks capital of the world, Seattle!

Another new mode in Madden NFL 24 is Superstar: Showdown.  Superstar Showdown will pit players against each other in a competitive 3v3 environment. The mode is not too dissimilar from The Yard, but with added improvements to really condense the action.

Madden NFL 24 also features updates to the Franchise mode, which lets you take control of your favorite team and manage every aspect of its operations. You can customize your team’s roster, staff, playbook, stadium, uniforms, and more. You can also make trades, sign free agents, draft rookies, scout prospects, negotiate contracts, set prices for tickets and merchandise, and deal with injuries and suspensions. You can also play through each season and try to win the Super Bowl.

Conclusion

Overall, Madden NFL 24 is a solid game that delivers a realistic and immersive football experience on the Xbox Series X. The game has amazing graphics, improved gameplay mechanics, new features and modes, and a smart artificial intelligence system that makes it challenging and fun. If you are a fan of American football or looking to jump in for the first time, you should definitely check out Madden NFL 24 on Xbox Series X.
