Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga Galactic Edition Review

The force is strong with Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Galactic Edition. The Lego Star Wars series has always been a unique take on the Star War franchise. Through its comical and bizarre humor, the title does a rather amazing job of taking the player through all 9 episodes of the Star Wars movies. All the way from the beginning to the end. What’s new with the Galactic Edition of the saga is that it adds a library of new characters to the game’s roster. 30 new playable characters to be exact. Although nothing gameplay or story-wise was additionally added, the Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga brings loads of fun and a sense of adventure. Gamers have its re-imaged combat and open-world exploration to thank for that.

Base Game

Lego Star fans can revisit past episodes in a whole new light. This time around action and combat are much more fluid and expressive. In the past simply pressing the attack button was all gamers needed to do in order to complete a level. Now gamers are given a third-person perspective so they can be up close and personal with the action. Combo chains are a fresh new feature to the combat aspect of Lego Star Wars and personally, I’m all for it. Along with it, blasters can now be aimed and characters can now take cover behind walls and blockades. All of this makes the Lego Star Wars games so much more engaging.

The most important thing fans of the older titles need to understand is that this is an absolute revamp of how the lego games used to be played. The old co-op run-and-gun hack-and-slash has turned into a full-blown open-world adventure game with skill trees, side quests, and more. No more grunts and moans from Minifigures. Instead, everyone has full-on voice acting. The Lego Star Wars series was truly rebuilt from the ground up brick by brick.

The only thing that fans might have to get used to is the open world. Once the game starts and as gamers play through the first episode, there is a list of different things to unlock, and skills to upgrade, and a lot is thrown at the player. It can be overwhelming at first but after some time playing everything will soon seem natural.
