Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream – River End Games/Nordcurrent
We were very impressed with what we got to play of Eriksholm earlier this year, and so this release has been much aniticipated indeed. Featuring isometric stealth with multiple characters in play, it’s as much a puzzle game as an action one, with clever use of space and environmental designs to give us a few options of approach. It’s definitely more linear than we were hoping for, but we’re hoping the full game opens the scope just a little. Either way, this should be high up the list of things to play in July if you like a bit of the ol’ sneaky sneaky.

Robocop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business – Nacon/Teyon
The original release of Rogue City was met with critical praise for it’s excellent visuals and gritty combat. So Teyon are back with this SLC/Spin off, and from the trailer it looks like it’s going to deliver more Robocop criminal spattering, and that’s just fine by us. It harks back to the early days of shooters; just point and shoot or punch, and if you feel like it, so a little bit of upgrading too.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound – Dotemu
Ninja Gaiden is getting a bit of a revival in 2025; first a remake of NG2 Black and the announcement of NG4 later this year. And then we get a new 2D Ninja Gaiden game from Dotemu that looks bloody fantastic. A recent demo on the Steam Next Fest event confirmed we’re in for a solid feeling action game, and there’s probably not going to be a much better way to round off July in our eyes.
