Gaming Tavern Is Now Live on YouTube

Times are changing. In the modern day of gaming, console barriers are getting ever hazier and more and more we’re seeing fusion-fingers between almost all parties. Be it cross-play on Fortnite, cross-save between consoles and PC, or simply previously exclusive games heading to new platforms, 2025 is undoubtedly a fantastic year for play, and the start of what we hope to see more of going forward.

Something we’ve been mulling over for sometime now is the fact that, while Xbox is our platform of choice, the entire crew here plays on multiple formats, and we often have to skip over certain titles simply because we have no real place to cover them here on Xbox Tavern. While our weekly podcast isn’t shy about mixing it up – be it Pokémon chatter, more The Last of Us love, or talking things like the Switch 2 – up until now we’ve stuck to Xbox only for reviews/gameplay etc.

Well, thanks to some great work from our man Scottish Gruff Ross, we’ve decided to ease into a new way of approaching games over on our YouTube channel. As you can see from the title and image above, our previous Xbox Tavern YouTube channel has had a bit of a face lift; please say hi to the new Gaming Tavern channel!

What we hope with this change is that we’ll be a bit freer to talk more games, stream different platforms, and just celebrate gaming as a whole. Xbox will primarily be the focus (at least while we get up and running) but over time we hope to share the love a lot more broadly.

The site here will remain Xbox-centric, with reviews of as many of the latest Xbox games as we can fit into our schedule, as well as occasional opinion pieces and the like thrown in. So fear not – we’re not abandoning the green ship and jumping into blue and red waters!

We love gaming here at the Tavern, and with this, we hope we can better share that love with all of you. If you’re already subscribed to the YouTube channel you’ll see the change in the immediate future, but if you’re yet to join us? We’d love to see you over there for gaming videos, and of course our weekly podcast which we record every Sunday at 8pm (ISSSHHHHHH)!

I've been gaming since Spy vs Spy on the Master System, growing up as a Sega kid before realising the joy of multi-platform gaming. These days I can mostly be found on smaller indie titles, the occasional big RPG and doing poorly at Rainbow Six: Siege. Gamertag: Enaksan
