What can I say about this visual novel from developer npckc and publisher Ratalaika Games S.L.? The visuals have a very nice and pleasing look to them with soft pastel colours and a “cute” art style to them. We have the typical lacking of movement from characters and scenery, however in a very surprising change dialogue options make a big difference to the story. On one playthrough I finished the story within (what felt like) 5 minutes. For each story section, I believe there are around 3 to 4 different story paths you can take.
For the story itself, you follow 3 different young women, Haru in One Night, Hot Springs storyline, then Erika in Last Day of Spring and Manami in Spring Leaves No Flowers. The storylines are about young women making friends, with the occasional drama and things that someone like myself, a 40-year-old man can not relate to at all.
Conclusion
While I might not have been able to relate to the stories personally, I still got some enjoyment out of A Year of Springs. Between the pleasant visuals and tales I would recommend players check this out as one of the better visual novels on Xbox.
