Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge Review

I had a fantastic time playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shedder’s Revenge. As you can see from the video above, I would highly recommend you checking it out either via Game Pass or simply buying it outright.

I played through the game solo, which was fun if perhaps not the best way to play. Up to six players can team up on and offline and considering the carnage on screen solo I can only imagine how much fun a full six player lobby would be! Luckily, we don’t have to double up on characters as there are the four Turtles as well as Splinter and April to choose from. Fan favourite Casey Jones is unlocked after the first completion too.

Gameplay-wise you get a great beat ’em up with various enemies and bosses across the 16 levels. Attacks are the usual one button affair for the most part but to deal with those enemies that require a different approach we also have access to sprint attacks, specials, and occasional level-specific modes – usually while hoverboarding. Characters can be levelled up too in order to unlock more powerful versions or increase our stats.

One only real gripe is the quality of the characters audio. Riffing on the low-res quality of the old arcade games is one thing, but the actual speech is too muffled to really enjoy hearing often. I kinda wish they’d either left it out entirely or got higher quality audio in for this aspect.

Conclusion

Overall though I had a fantastic time with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. The action is fast and fun, and highly replayable thanks to several character options and upgrades. It might be a little repetitive solo but get some mates together and this is sure to provide a lot of laughs.

Gaming used to be about playing Championship Manager ,but then I was introduced to consoles and I fell in love with Xbox 360. Xbox has always been my console of choice. Catch me on Apex or Call of Duty. Gamertag/Twitter: Chocolatebear80
